Better late than never! A post-work walk around the Watermill Lane/No.2 Pit area at Weybread revealed my first Spotted Flycatcher of the year in the garden of Weybread House. Although my eBird checklist contained 30 species it was all common stuff apart from that. A single Gadwall on No.2 Pit, Kingfisher, Treecreeper and both Green and Great Spotted Woodpeckers the other 'highlights'!
Odonata were the other highlight with c4 Willow Emeralds, Brown Hawker, Southern Hawker and Black-tailed Skimmer. A surprise if rather tatty Brown Argus was on a sunny bank beside No.2 pit.
Plantwise I found Caper Spurge, Great Mullein, Burnet Rose and Frogbit of note while Common Centaury and Scarlet Pimpernel were exceptionally numerous.
