Martagon Lily, 12 July 2022

Seeing Martagon Lily, a rather splendid plant, has been on my agenda for a week or two after Louis Parkerson told me about some. I wasn't far away from the site yesterday and as it turned out I was just in time and most of the plants had gone over - luckily one was still in full bloom and looking gorgeous in the gloom under the trees. This is another naturalised plant (aka Turk's-hat Lily due to the shape of the flower) but not recorded in Norfolk for 20+ years.
