Garden beasties, Pulham Market, 10 July 2015

OK, so I was a bit bored and started looking at some more of the bugs and beasties to be found in the garden yesterday! I managed to identify 3 different hoverflies - Marmalade Hoverfly (Epissyrphus balteatus), Long Hoverfly (Sphaerophoria scripta) and a Syrphus sp which I'm told can't be identified specifically from any photograph. It's all a big learning process for me! There was also a Harlequin Ladybird nymph and also a strange one in transition into an adult. The metallic emerald coloured Thick-legged Flower Beetle was also a beauty as was the Digger Wasp which looks like Argogorytes mystaceus. On more familiar territory I also added 2 new butterflies to the garden list with both Large Skipper and Essex Skipper.
