A walk at Kirkley & Pakefield, 30 July 2023

A different area for our Sunday walk this week. An area we haven't really explored before.

From a nature point of view it was rather unremarkable but a nice Sand Martin colony on Pakefield Cliffs was good to see. Also, nearby, growing halway up the cliff were a clump of Petunias! Presumably from a garden that has long slumped over the cliff but a rather strange sight. Other than that some Sweet Alison and a huge hybrid Mint sp was the best of it. 4 Painted Ladies, numerous Red Admirals, Comma, Small Tortoiseshell, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Large White and Small White were the butterflies noted.
