With news having been made public of the discovery of the mega rare Creeping Marshwort in Thetford I managed to obtain some detailed directions. This plant which was previously known from only a single site in Oxfordshire was 'found' growing in the Nunn's Bridges area after an area had been scraped of it's topsoil. Long-dormant seeds then germinated and hey presto!
Finding the site and the plants was easy and I filled my boots with this diminutive little plant before a walk around the area along the Little Ouse towards the Nunnery and then the other way into town. There was plenty of birds to keep me amused with 2-3 Kingfishers seen many times, 2 Grey Wagtails, Nuthatch, 2 Little Egrets and a hybrid Canada x Greylag Goose amongst the many Canadas.
