The lure of an adult male Red-tailed Shrike (aka Turkestan Shrike) by the coastguards cottages at Dunwich was just too much!
After some very wet weather there was a window of sun on Saturday morning so I grabbed my opportunity. Luckily the bird was ‘on show’ on arrival and gave some great views despite it blowing a hoolie. Tellingly it was keeping to the sheltered sunny side of the bushes. It was a real smash and grab raid with only a ‘heard’ Dartfiord Warbler also recorded as I left before the weather closed in again!
