Thailand Day 9, 10 February 2013, Doi Chiang Dao

Back in the Chiang Dao Nest area today. As the others hadn't yet been for a walk up to the Wat Nam Pa Plong monastery I suggested we all did (knowing of course that the birding is good!)
Being with non-birders meant I couldn't really give the area a thorough working but nonetheless still managed some goodies. In the grassy area just before the monastery carpark a Yellow-streaked Warbler showed nicely (looking Radde's-like but not quite right!).
Trudging up the steps I had Pale-legged Leaf Warbler, 2 Bar-winged Flycatcher-shrikes, Lesser Racket-tailed Drongo, Grey-eyed Bulbul, Scarlet Minivet, Japanese White-eye and reaching the bridge over the gulley flushed 2 distinctive Pin-tailed Green Pigeons and 2 Drongo Cuckoos.

Around the upper reached of the steps and the monastery buildings were several Black-crested Bulbuls, 2 Red-whiskered Bulbuls, Ashy Drongos, Common Iora and a single Puff-throated Bulbul that refused to emerge from cover so I could get a decent shot!
2 Buff-breasted Babblers were once again hopping about in the temple gulley.

Back at the nest I had a very short amble along the lane towards Mallee's while we waited for our songthaew to take us back to Chiang Mai. An obliging male Verditer Flycatcher was the highlight with 2 Stripe-throated Bulbuls, Common Iora and Yellow-browed Warbler sharing the same clump of trees. Overhead there we several Striated Swallows and Pacific Swifts while the resident Taiga Flycatcher and both Scarlet-backed and Plain Flowerpecker were in the garden.
