Glapthorn Cow Pastures, Northants, 19 June 2018

On my way over to Sean Cole's in Kidderminster for our Scotland trip I couldn't resist a stop at Glapthorn Cow Pastures as it wasn't far off route.
The main reason was of course Black Hairstreaks which I'd not see for a number of years. Luckily they proved nice and easy with some wonderful point blank views of c20 individuals on bramble flowers at waist height beside the rides. Also there were 2 Common Spotted Orchids, Large Skipper, Black & Yellow Longhorn Beetle, Scorpion Fly and Lesser Whitethroat. In the general vicinity there were also several Red Kites as you might expect!
