Frog Orchid, Dactylorhiza viridis, 8 June 2019

When the rain finally stopped this afternoon I popped out quickly to see if my local Frog Orchids have decided to appear yet. Bumping in to Jane Ferguson and her husband there we quickly found at least 10 plants. There are probably quite a few more but being so inconspicuous we didn't want to stomp around looking too much for fear of standing on one! As usual both red and green forms were present and I was also delighted to find a single Southern Marsh Orchid, the first I've ever had at the site. Then the rain started again so I retreated back home!
